I have no idea why this happens.
The fact that we have to watch dependabot like hawks for things like this is really depressing.

Yeah, very confusing. Neither pip nor uv guarantees forward progress on transitive deps, but this is a direct dep so I'm confused as to how we seemingly backtracked here.
